Don Sherwood (12 de septiembre de 1930 - 6 de marzo de 2010) fue un dibujante e ilustrador estadounidense. La creación de Dan Flagg hizo a Sherwood bastante popular. Fue invitado a almorzar por el presidente Lyndon B. Johnson en la Casa Blanca, junto a otros cuatro famosos caricaturistas militares (Milton Caniff, Mort Walker, Bill Mauldin y Wunder).

Durante la década de 1970, Sherwood trabajó en una variedad de medios. Diseño personajes para Hanna-Barbera Productions, dibujó Los Picapiedra, creó guiones gráficos para Columbia Pictures y escribió e ilustró cómics como The Partridge Family y The Phantom para Charlton Comics. También la nostálgica serie Return With Us To..., también dibujó Katy Keene para Archie Comics.

Su principal obra, Dan Flagg, fue publicada en España por Ed. Ferma en su colección Agente 007 James Bond en 1965 (en este volumen) y en Extra ¡¡Acción!! de Ediciones Petronio en 1969.

En 1963 Dan Sherwood creó a Dan Flagg, una tira con un héroe infante de marina, que tuvo bastante éxito. Sherwood investigó exhaustivamente para documentarse, visitando instalaciones de la Marina, hablando con reclutas y oficiales, y estudiando la historia del Cuerpo.

A mediados de la década de 1960, Universal Studios habló con Sherwood para que su heroico marine apareciera en la televisión, pero el acuerdo no fructificó; la guerra de Vietnam, en la que se desarrollaban muchas de sus historias, ya no era popular y estaba siendo motivo de protestas y para mediados de 1967 también la historieta desapareció. Ese habría sido el final de Dan, pero en 1969, cuando Sherwood estaba haciendo las adaptaciones con licencia de Charlton de obras de King Features, Sherwood hizo un par de historias sobre Dan en las últimas páginas del título Jungle Jim.

The Buckinghams - Six Original Albums

 The Buckinghams es el nombre de una banda musical formada en Chicago, Illinois, Estados Unidos en el año de 1966. Un año después de su surgimiento, pasó a convertirse en una de las bandas con mayores ventas.​ La banda se disolvió a inicios de 1970, pero se volvió a juntar diez años más tarde, en 1980, y hoy en día continúan haciendo giras en los Estados Unidos.

En 1965 el guitarrista Carl Gimmarese y Nick Fortuna, junto al bajista Curtis Bachman, fueron invitados a unirse a la banda de rock clásico. Gimmarese y Bachman, además del teclista Dannis Miccolis, más tarde se convierten en miembros de otra banda, The Pulsations, cuyos miembros incluyen el baterista John Poulos y a los vocalistas George LeGros y Dannis Tufano. Después de ganar una batalla local del concurso de bandas, a finales de 1965, The Pulsations aseguró poder trabajar con el nuevo grupo formado en WGN-TV, una propiedad de espectáculos y variedades en la televisión. La trasmisión era en el programa All Time-Hits. Los productores del programa sugirieron que adoptan un nombre reflexivo de la invasión británica, que fue muy popular en aquel momento, y la banda adoptó el nombre de The Buckinghams, que fue sugerida por un guardia de seguridad llamado John Opager en la estación. La banda le gustó el nombre debido a su similitud con la ciudad natal, donde estaba la Fuente de Buckingham.

A principios de 1966, George LeGros se vio obligado a dejar la banda después de ser convocado al servicio Militar. Más tarde, el bajista Bachman también dejó de ser miembro y Nick Fortuna (quien tocaba también el bajo y pronto tendría el apellido Fortune por estar mal escrito en el registro de la discográfica) regresó en una temporada con Jimmy V. y los Artistas. La banda firmó su primer contrato discográfico con el sello local USA Records y grabó doce canciones en el mismo año.

La historia nos narra, en clave de humor, las aventuras de Musculman/Kinnikuman, cuyo verdadero nombre es Suguru. Se trata de un estrafalario superhéroe, un príncipe venido del planeta Músculo (Kinniku), al que su padre arrojó desde allí en una bolsa de basura confundiéndolo con un cerdo. Es quizá el luchador más poderoso pero, continuamente, sus disparatadas ideas le hacen pasar un mal rato. Practica la lucha libre y adora el Gyuudon (estofado de carne en la versión hispana). El ajo le otorga una fuerza mágica, en parte obtenida por los gases que le produce. Lleva una máscara desde que nació, ya que según la tradición de su planeta, si alguien ve su verdadero rostro debe suicidarse para compensar la humillación. Lo acompaña su fiel compañero Meat, el cual le apoya para enfrentase a lo largo de toda la historia en brutales batallas con los más alocados y poderosos enemigos en combates de la lucha libre.

En un principio, Kinnikuman es el encargado de combatir a los monstruos que invaden la Tierra cuando todos los demás superhéroes están ocupados. Conforme avanza la historia el argumento se centra exclusivamente en los combates a muerte de lucha libre entre los superhéroes de la justicia y los malvados, hasta que finalmente Sugurú demuestra ser digno de heredar el trono de su padre.
