The Human Instinct - The Zodiac Years

 

Human Instinct es una banda de rock neozelandesa activa desde finales de la década de 1960. Actualmente, la banda está compuesta por Maurice Greer (voz principal y batería), Phil Pritchard (guitarra), Joel Haines (guitarra) y Tony Baird (bajo). La banda ha tenido más de 25 miembros y ha cambiado de formación varias veces desde su creación bajo el liderazgo de Maurice Greer.

En 1972, Greer volvió a cambiar la formación, incorporando a los guitarristas Martin Hope (Fourmyula) y John Donoghue (Timberjack), así como a Glenn Mikkelson (también conocido como Zaine Griff), quien tocaba el bajo y también cantaba en algunas canciones, aportando un nuevo sonido country rock. La banda lanzó dos álbumes más: Snatmin Cuthin? (un anagrama del nombre del grupo) en 1972 y The Hustler (1974). Jason Crest - Collected Work

 

De los suburbios de Kent, Reino Unido. Originalmente conocidos como The Good Thing Brigade, cambiaron su nombre a Jason Crest cuando firmaron un contrato de grabación con Philips en 1968. Cambiaron su nombre a High Broom en la primavera de 1970.

Jason Crest fue uno de los muchos, muchos grupos británicos que grabaron algunas pistas de rock psicodélico a finales de los años 60 sin tener muchas ventas o renombre que demostrar. En gran parte porque varias de sus grabaciones han aparecido en numerosas compilaciones de reediciones orientadas a coleccionistas, la banda se ha ganado una modesta reputación de culto. En su momento más pesado, su último sencillo, "Black Mass", tenía voces y letras casi demoníacas que anticipaban bandas de metal de los años 70 que encajaban con imágenes satánicas.
