William Vaughn, conocido popularmente como Billy Vaughn (nacido Richard Smith Vaughn, 12 de abril de 1919 - 26 de septiembre de 1991 murió de mesotelioma peritoneal) fue un músico, cantante, multiinstrumentista, líder de orquesta y hombre de A&R estadounidense para Dot Records. La Billy Vaughn Orchestra comenzó a realizar giras en 1965 con numerosas giras con entradas agotadas por Japón, Brasil y Corea del Sur.
La Billy Vaughn Orchestra, copropiedad y dirigida por su hijo, Richard Smith Vaughn Jr., sigue siendo una big band de gira. Producida por Tate Corporation, Japón, realizó una gira por Japón en 2013, 2014 y nuevamente en 2018 con entradas agotadas.
