En abril de 1966, la revista estadounidense Time publicó un artículo en primera plana, titulado “Puedes cruzarla sobre la hierba”, que proclamaba que Londres era la ciudad más dinámica del mundo y líder de la cultura pop contemporánea.
El concepto de Swinging London –una colisión que captura el espíritu de la época entre las modas más atrevidas, los mejores actores/modelos, la música pop más genial– ya había estado fermentando durante uno o dos años, pero el artículo de Time lo impulsó desde un secreto local bien guardado a fenómeno reconocido internacionalmente. A lo largo de cuatro horas y tres CD, 'You Can Walk Across It On The Grass: The Boutique Sounds of Swinging London' documenta una escena que, 60 años después, todavía cautiva la imaginación del público.
