El doo wop nació en Estados Unidos en la década del 30. Cantado generalmente por grupos masculinos la base eran las armonías vocales donde estaban el bajo, el tenor, el tenor alto y el barítono. Esto más uno pocos instrumentos de acompañamiento y se estaba listo para buscar suerte en el disputado mercado de la música, donde son muchos los llamados pero pocos los elegidos.
