The Ultimate Acid Dreams - U.S. Psychedelic Punk

 En 1979, una tienda de discos de Berlín editó Acid Dreams, una compilación de garage punk psicodélico estadounidense en una sencilla portada de op-art, impresa en una edición de sólo 77 copias. Se inspiró en la compilación de los Nuggets que apareció en Elektra en 1972, pero profundizó mucho más en la cultura pop estadounidense de los sesenta de lo que incluso ese brillante doble LP se había atrevido a aventurarse. Su aparición fue solo ligeramente anterior a la primera compilación de Pebbles, que había aparecido en Australia el año anterior. Acid Dreams fue un clásico instantáneo. Definió la compilación perfecta de psicodelia de garaje y pasó a generar secuelas durante las décadas siguientes. Estos incluyen Acid Dreams Testament, Acid Dreams Epitaph (ambos en disco compacto), The Return of Acid Dreams y el LP triple Acid Dream.
