After Hours The Collection

 

El hecho de que el título haga referencia a los tipos de sellos importantes que uno imaginaría que han antologizado sus discos de soul innumerables veces no significa que todavía no haya una gran cantidad de material clásico esperando a ser descubierto; claro, After Hours se basa en el amplio catálogo de Warner Bros. y sus sellos afiliados, pero los ritmos aquí son tan geniales y tan oscuros como cualquier cosa que puedas encontrar en compañías discográficas que operaban en el medio de la nada. En todo caso, este material es incluso mejor de lo que encuentran los realmente apartados, porque estos artistas tenían el músculo del estudio Warner a su disposición, lo que significa que incluso si los sencillos en cuestión nunca llegaron a las listas, no fue por falta de habilidad y pulido. Aquí también hay cantantes conocidos: la incomparable Barbara Lewis canta "I Remember the Feeling", Johnny Copeland contribuye con "Sufferin' City" e incluso Ella Fitzgerald aparece en "Get Ready", pero las verdaderas partituras son los que nunca fueron, entre ellos "You Hit Me" de Alice Clark, "Satisfied" de Ben Aiken y "I Love Her So Much It Hurts Me" de David & Ruben. pass: manchon1961
